Four papers co-authored by ISO-NE engineers receive top honors

September 29, 2015

ISO-NE engineers made a strong showing and received accolades on research related to new technologies for “Powering Up the Next Generation” at the 2015 IEEE Power & Energy Society General Meeting in July. Of particular note, is an ISO initiative that uses cloud computing to create complex models to satisfy new reliability requirements while saving costs--the first of its kind for large-scale power system simulation studies in the industry.

Next Consumer Liaison Group meeting set for October 9

September 2, 2015

Registration is open for the next meeting of the Consumer Liaison Group (CLG) at the Sheraton Hotel in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, on October 9, 2015. James Bride, president of Energy Tariff Experts, will give the keynote address, discussing pending capacity price increases, how they appear on an end user’s electricity bill, and what an end user can do to mitigate these increases. A panel will discuss the opportunities and challenges associated with the integration of renewable resources into the electric system.
